Village in Haiti

The earthquakes which have occurred in Haiti have left many livelihoods destroyed. From the loss of lives to the destruction of property, a significant majority of Haitians remain homeless and poor due to disasters. The most recent earthquake, which occurred On August 14, 2021, gravely affected families even further. With more than 2,200 people killed, the earthquake destroyed houses, healthcare facilities, and schools. Most families who were still rebuilding their homes from the historical 2010 earthquake were even affected further, leaving them without shelter. Rescue and relief responses have helped these families recover from the impact of the disaster. However, there has not been enough help yet because many people cannot afford shelter.
